WordPress comes with the “Blog” page that can be displayed as the ‘posts’ page (purposeful difference in quotation marks there) on the Home page = it pulls all posts in chronological order – boom. (As opposed to selecting another static page as the Home page which is “here is this page with content on it that doesn’t change unless I edit it”)

But you want dynamic content.

So I hear you that you want posts categorized as “blogs” to be displayed and NOT the posts categorized as “reading summaries”

I think you might need widgets. BUT I think we had better ask Jon on Monday morning because I do not want to mess with adding widgets to your theme (they don’t all behave the same way).
